When it comes to getting organized, one of the best things I've found is bullet journaling. I can put everything that's on my mind onto paper. If you're thinking about starting a bullet journal, I strongly recommend it, and I've come up with a list of things that could be added to anyone's bullet journal.
- Monthly
- Calendar
- Keeping a monthly calendar can help a lot when it comes to remembering due dates for that specific month. It also helps being able to see everything that is going on the upcoming month with one glance.
- Habit Tracker
- This can help you with goals you want to accomplish, or healthy habits you want to create. You are able to map out exactly the things you want to do everyday, and see how often you actually do them.
- Divider
- I find that making dividers for each month lets me focus on each individual month. Also, creating the divider each month gets the creative juices flowing for planning that month out. I like to draw out a divider using objects that pertain to each month. For instance, my divider for October has leaves and cute halloween drawings, helping me get excited for things coming up that month.
- Goals & Mini Bucket List
- This is just a fun idea to try new things. Seeing fun things you want to do that month may give you the incentive to actually do them. It may be daunting to see a whole list of hundreds of things you want to do in your life, so making a small list just for the month, it could be easier.
- Weekly
- Upcoming due dates
- It’s a lot easier to remember due dates if you see them written down each week. Here’s my way of also keeping track of when they’re actually due
- 3-4 weeks away
- 2 weeks away
- 1 week away
- 1-3 days away
- This has made it so much easier, especially when just looking at a glance.
- Class & Work Schedule
- Especially if those schedules are always changing. Mapping out events and hanging out with friends is a lot easier when you also know what your other schedules look like.
- Daily
- Daily Goals & To-dos
- Aside from weekly to-dos, it’s satisfying to check off the things you’ve wanted to get done that day.
- Word of the day/quote of the day
- I’ll admit, this isn’t going to help you get more organized. This will, however, help for relaxing. Especially if you do this at the end of the day. I like to now only look up a random word or quote, but those pertaining to how I felt that day.
- Daily reflections
- It could be a whole page. It could be two sentences. Just getting your thoughts about the day onto paper can be extremely refreshing.
- General
- Bills due dates
- Set aside a page or two just to keep track of your bills. Not only the due dates, but the amount due, as well as whether it’s automatic or if you need to pay in person.
- Creative Pages
- Includes books you’ve read, to read, music playlists, quote pages, anything to go to to make you happy. Just get your creativity onto the page, it’s fun to look over them after some time has past.
- Goals for the year
- Workout schedule
- I’ve come to realise that it can be easier to stick with a routine if I know what I plan to do everyday.
- Water intake
- This could be in your monthly tracker, or it’s own page. I usually take to Pinterest to get some inspiration.
- Wants/ needs/ gifts pages
- This can be especially helpful around the holidays to keep track of everyone on your list.
